S.F. Britnell lives in Whistler, BC, Canada. Throughout her life, she has worn many hats: mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, technologist, farmer, herbalist, business owner, and now her favourite Grandma. She enjoys writing, concocting herbal potions, crocheting, travelling, crafts, pickleball, and spending time with family and friends.  

This is her first book, a memoir; given her eventful life, it is doubtful that it will be her last.

From The Author

I started writing 'A Will and A Wai' in the fall of 2024. The first 7 chapters flowed easily, then I couldn’t continue. I think it was because of where I was in the story. Emotions surprise us at times, and I realized that it still felt too raw to write the next chapter. For over a year, it sat there.

This past winter, I decided to take a ‘personal time-out’ and try to finish the book. The events of the past few years- moving to
British Columbia; Jeff's death; Thailand; the twins and an extended stay in Ontario in the summer of 2024, when my sister had a serious medical event- had taken a toll. So, I headed to Mexico…

I quickly became known as 'the woman at the pool with the laptop'!
Everything poured out. Friends and family came for visits, and I coerced them into reading a few chapters.  With their perhaps biased but enthusiastic responses and encouragement, I finished the book before returning to Canada in April. 

 Currently, I am learning about publishing! ...
